Hospital Emergency ManagementRose Medical Center’s Emergency Management Program supports the hospital’s mission and vision statements by providing a safe, comfortable, dignified, positive and private environment for patients and visitors, as well as a safe work environment for employees, volunteers and medical staff in the event of a hazardous or emergency condition. The response to an internal or external event is delineated by an “All Hazards” approach. The intent of the program is to minimize any adverse effects on the hospital and its’ operations. NIMS and HICS govern’s the operations and is the link to the community. This will be accomplished through compliance with NFPA, OSHA, and the City and County of Denver codes and standards as well as other regulations that may apply.

 

The objectives of the emergency management program are:

  1. Provide a concise, pre-established plan to be implemented during an emergency or disaster to ensure the continuity of patient care and business
  2. Designed for operation in a hazardous or emergency condition while continuing to promote and deliver optimal patient care
  3. Designed to be integrated with community emergency management plans

 

PERSONAL PREPAREDNESS

Everyone should have a personal and family disaster plan. Such plans should include specific items that you should set aside for use only in an emergency such as water, non-perishable food items, flashlights and batteries, and blankets. Also, plans should include information for family members detailing how to contact one another in an emergency.There are several resources available at:
