At the Denver Center for Health & Sport Science, we perform research projects on various topics related to health, sports science and fitness. Some of the projects over the last 18 months have included:

  • Energy Expenditure During Golf

    • This landmark study demonstrated that walking the golf course will contribute to health, and possibly the most important fitness variable in energy system performance is anaerobic threshold.
  • The Effects of an 8-week Pilates Program

    • Pilates will increase fitness in people that have not exercised previously, especially in core strength.
  • Future Research

    • Is shoveling snow a good workout?
    • Does walking the dog burn any more calories than just walking?
    • Energy expenditure during golf at the driving range.
