Labor has started and you are feeling contractions every so often.

During this time, you may be at home working through some of the early stages of labor. Here are a few techniques to make this time more comfortable:

  • Remain well hydrated
  • Continue to eat nourishing foods
  • Get plenty of rest
  • Continue your regular activities if you can't rest
  • Change positions frequently
  • Use relaxation techniques
  • Massage and touch from a partner
  • Hydrotherapy (shower & tub)

Discuss with your care provider the signs of active labor and when it may be time to come to the hospital.
