Labor has started and you are feeling contractions every so often.
During this time, you may be at home working through some of the early stages of labor. Here are a few techniques to make this time more comfortable:
- Remain well hydrated
- Continue to eat nourishing foods
- Get plenty of rest
- Continue your regular activities if you can't rest
- Change positions frequently
- Use relaxation techniques
- Massage and touch from a partner
- Hydrotherapy (shower & tub)
Discuss with your care provider the signs of active labor and when it may be time to come to the hospital.
