Unmedicated Childbirth Preparation

This four-week class focuses on providing parents with tools to help achieve an unmedicated birth. Topics to be covered include the anatomy and physiology of childbirth, the role of pain in childbirth, and natural pain coping strategies. Students will be given opportunities to practice pain coping strategies, including a variety of positions for labor and comfort techniques such as deep relaxation, specialized breathing techniques, internal pain coping strategies and visualization. Development of a birth plan will also be discussed. Couples will learn how to work effectively as partners to assist each other in accomplishing their goals for birth.

HypnoBirthing Preparation

HypnoBirthing is as much a philosophy of birth as it is a technique for achieving a satisfying, relaxing and stress-free birth experience. This program, taught by a HypnoBirthing certified instructor teaches you, along with your birthing companion, how to call upon your body’s own natural relaxant and thus lessen, or even eliminate, discomfort and the need for medication. Through self-hypnosis, special breathing and visualization, HypnoBirthing teaches you how to trust your body and work with it. This class includes a tour of the Rose birthing units. Fee: $300/couple for 5 sessions, but call 303-320-ROSE to learn about our special introdutory pricing for the new HypnoBirthing courses!
