Siblings

To help older brothers and sisters adapt to the addition of a younger sibling, we offer the following classes.

Parent Helper

This class is designed to provide children ages 5 ½ to 10 with skills to “help” parents take care of the new baby. The class focuses on fostering responsibility and enjoyment in helping mom and dad, increasing awareness of the characteristics of newborns, and helping siblings understand emotions they have about the arrival of a new baby. Fee: $35/child

Kangaroo Kapers Siblings

This class is designed for children ages 1 ½ to 5 ½. Children will learn about the hospital and visiting routines, newborn behavior and basic baby care skills. Children will also learn about some of the different emotions that may be experienced when a sibling is added to the family. Children and parents will be encouraged to ask questions, and parents will remain with their children throughout class. Fee: $35/child
