Your due date is within several months and the idea of being a parent is becoming more of a reality each day. At Rose Medical Center, we offer the following classes for expecting moms and their partners who are in their last trimester of pregnancy.
Infant Care & Early Parenting
This class helps parents set realistic expectations for their baby’s first weeks and months by providing information and time for hands-on practice. Topics covered include normal newborn appearance at delivery, newborn development, what to buy for baby, choosing a doctor, illness, travel, child care, feeding choices, sleeping, crying, diapering, bathing and baby blues. Parents will take home many helpful handouts to reference after baby comes home. This class does not cover infant CPR

Baby Safe
This class helps prepare parents for emergencies that may occur in baby’s first year. Along with car seat safety and basic baby proofing, discussion will include prevention and treatment of common injuries such as bruises, bites, bleeding, burns, poisonings, drowning and falls. Students will also learn and practice the skills necessary to perform infant CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), as well as the skills necessary to assist a choking infant. Grandparents and other caregivers are welcome to attend.
Fee: $45/couple
