Years as a Midwife: 13
I was born in southern California, and lived most of my childhood in the Washington DC area. At the age of 21, I moved to Colorado for our more rural lifestyle. I attended the University of Colorado for a degree in molecular biology and subsequent master's degree in Kinesiology. I worked in cancer research until I had my first child with a midwife attendant at Rose Medical Center in 1985. This life changing experience inspired me to become a midwife myself. I then went on to graduate with a master's degree in midwifery in 1998, and have been a Rose Midwife ever since.
I believe parenting a child is one of life's greatest gifts. I also believe that a midwife is the ideal person to help usher families into their new or continued role as parents and caretakers of children.
