Years as a Midwife: 18
I received my Bachelor’s of Nursing from Arizona State, and my Master's of Nursing in Midwifery from the University of Colorado. My nursing background includes time spent in research, labor and delivery and intensive care. The first 5 years I spent practicing as a midwife were abroad, in a very busy hospital setting. It was a wonderful experience, and gave me an opportunity to grow in my knowledge of providing midwifery care, and experience different care models. During the time I was abroad, I also taught childbirth education classes, and provided education to physicians, nurses and midwifery students.
In 1998 I returned to beautiful Colorado and joined the Rose Midwifery practice. During the time I have been at Rose, I have seen our practice continue to grow and provide educational opportunities for patients, and new and unique ways to provide access to care. I am passionate regarding education for women and their families, and seek every opportunity to empower individuals with more knowledge.
I love having the opportunity to work with people, and enjoy specifically using the holistic midwifery approach to help women during such a special life changing time in their lives.
