Barbara Moore
Birth Philosophy
My work as a birth doula involves helping mothers and their partners achieve greater satisfaction with their birth experience by providing continuous, uninterrupted support and guidance as well as facilitating communication with the medical team. After we have a chance to meet over the telephone or through email, I am able to provide more personalized care. Through the use of touch, positioning, emotional support, and relaxation and breathing techniques, we can work together to make your birth experience more comfortable, productive and positive.
Experience
I began working at Rose Medical Center in 1982. My career in education, as well as my training as a Childbirth Educator, Birth Doula, and Certified Lactation Consultant, have prepared me to assist expectant couples and new parents, and allow me to work in the field about which I am most passionate. It is an honor for me when I am invited to assist at a labor and be present as a new baby meets his/her parents for the first time.
I am the mother of four grown children, two of whom were born at Rose, and the grandmother of twins. I am comfortable and prepared to assist couples, whether their birth preferences include an unmedicated birth or the use of an epidural. It is my goal to help make your baby’s birthday a memorable and happy one.
